I recently read "
A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens to my six year old daughter. She laid very quiet and still each night as I did my best to read 8-10 pages. It's a great book, but 1850's English writing is a little tricky to read. After I had finished she told me her favorite part was Tiny Tim's family getting the prize turkey.
It's been about a week since we finished the book. I have been comparing the book to about a half dozen movie versions. All the films have little twists or interpretations that make them all unique. One thing does seem to be consistent and I think it's my favorite part.
It's the final words of Ebenezer Scrooge to The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come...
"
I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach. Oh, tell me I may sponge away the writing on this stone!"Have a very wonderful holiday and may the spirit of the season be with you throughout the year!
